Is there a black hole at the center of the Milky Way and the other galaxies? I'm sorry this isn't embedded, they requested it not to be.

One thing that you should know is that mass and gravity are connected to each other in a way that so far has never been broken. All mass has some amount of gravity. The reason that we don't feel the gravity of other things around us is that the things around us have such small mass and such a small amount of gravity. black holes have the mass of a giant star that has collapsed in on itself. Hence, a black hole has a same amount of gravity in a very dense, very small area. A star three times the size of the sun will only, if collapsed, will make a black hole ten miles wide.

There is a point on the anatomy of a black hole that light cannot escape. The point I am speaking of is the event horizon. The event horizon is a ring of light that, if light reaches that, will be pulled in by the immense force of the black hole.

Q: Does time slow down at the event horizon?
A: No, if you were going towards a black hole then from the outside, the light reflected off of you would be caught in the gravity and slowed making it appear as if you were going slower than you really are.
